More Fashion's Night Out NYC Goodness!

Model Chanel Iman for Fashion's Night Out

I'm not sure if the festivities were enough to actually stimulate shoppers and curious pedestrians to fork over money, but tonight's Fashion's Night Out NYC was a whole lotta fun!

Traversing along West Broadway, it was nice to see that the usually starchy area was made festive and jolly, due to the throngs of people gathered outside stores like A Bathing Ape, where folks were jostling to get a glimpse of Pharrel who was supposed to be playing cashier for the evening.

Lower down the block, staffers & organizers at Max Azria kept saying that it was "the busiest that SoHo had been in ages," and I believe them. Taking a left across Green, I made my first dip-in at Kate Spade; nobody was actually purchasing anything from what I saw, but the free Cha-Cha dance class had the Broome St. spot was all a-swinging.

Ogling selections from the F/W09 collection, the reps offered up some snackables and a smidgen of Sangria/Limoncello-esque liquor, which really wasn't enough to keep me around... Next up was a pop-around at the bustling Topshop on Broadway for Eleni's cookies, Fiji Water, Vogue item pulls and Fashion's Night Out tees.

A bit of live dancing at Guess, The Rapture at Prada, Model Coco Rocha Irish-stepping at DKNY, specials & giveaways at Urban Outfitters, and champagne with crunchy breadsticks at Zara, and the night was over for me.

All in all, it was a great incentive to perk up the retail scene, but I guess the real litmus test will be whether or not Fashion's Night Out encouraged cash-strapped New Yorkers to shop, once again.
