This weeks Caribbean Art Piece is: MANF Aliens

These 'Alien' pieces have been popping up all over Port of Spain for the past year or more. There's not much I can tell you regarding the Who, What and Why of these graffiti pieces, beyond the fact that they seem to be the calling card of a talented somebody with an almost otherworldly view of the everyday. The eyes of the MANF Aliens aren't much different from a kid's sketch, but they manage to throw daggers like invasive lasers. As you can see in this shot, the Alien has no 'real' hands or feet, so it seems to be gliding along the walls with a jaunty lil trot. Sometimes it looks like its so bored with the Trini mentality that it just yawns widely, hanging its head way back, a la The Reach Toothbrush Commercial cartoon man. I wonder who he is?
