Old Years night, New things to do....

The end of the year is one of my favorite times of each year. The days and weeks literally fly by and next thing you know, its Old Years' night and you're half wondering where the entire year went, and your half excited for the next... This year was one of planning & change for me - A damn crazy, joyous, excitement-filled, busy, and fun year, so I need to transition out of 07 in a no frills, no fuss way. I just want to greet 08 in a cool frame of mind, having a great time with my loved ones, thankful for all the blessings and opportunities that 07 brought, but fully conscious of what my 08 mission is. And of course, like all 'good folk', I'll even find my way into a lil New Years mass before the clock strikes midnight on Dec. 31st... Just like you, I have my string of traditions that I meticulously go through before Jan 1st, and I take special care with them, since the very next day is my birthday.

All of this background info just to say "this time is a very special time for me". I also know that for others, it's a very special time... To party, that is! And there's not a damn thing wrong with that. Just make sure and pick some where special to ring in the new year, be true to the kind of vibes you want to have in 08, and be safe...My Granny used to smoke out the house & yard with incense before New Years, in order to run the bad vibes from the last year... That's kind of out there I know, but I swear it used to work! Dreary folks who used to hang around and spoil any scene, would suddenly stop comming around with their nastiness. You can do the same, in a more 'everyday' way. Weed out the old vibes in your routine or pack of cronies and try a new kinda event for Old Years night.

Some options? Shine in Trinidad, hosted by those ever talented guys from the top Rapso Group, 3 Canal. With promises of complimentary champagne, sparkling wine, hors d'oeuvres & party favours to help you ring in the New Year just right, I can promise you if anything, its gonna be a very jolly place to be come Dec. 31st. The 3 Canal guys and the Cut & Clear crew are well known as the bearer of good vibes, pure culture, and forward thinking initiatives, so if you're lacking in those areas, check that out for a New Year top up. Just wear something white to truly be part of the scene. Link: (http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=7961496751&ref=share)
Another pick? The French Connection midnight ball being held on the New Kingston Golf Academy in Jamaica. Well the glossy invite says that there'll be champagne flowing, fireworks, and allthe works at the ultra exclucive golf course. Sounds like a stylish Old Years night lime any way you take it. Whatever you do, keep it safe, celebrate it with loved ones and friends, and remember...

Have a Happy New Year!!!
