" A ......... Christmas is the best, the best, the best...."

Working on Radio during the weeks leading up to Christmas, I'd always break out the carols & parang tunes a week or two too early and then get fed up of them a week or two after! I have a slew of favourites, but my all time fave would have to be "Trini Christmas is the Best (is the best, is the best.... la la la la la la laaaa) That parang is THE one to set the tone for the season. But what makes Trini christmas, or St Lucian, Dominican, Jamaican or any other Christmas the best are the elements of the season that makes Christmastime special wherever you're from. I'm talking about the seasonal dishes and goodies, Christmas music, the chilly air, and sharing with your loved ones... But I know its really the presents you're looking out for, eh! So I thought, while you're looking out for gifts, let me present you with some gift ideas to help you carry that Christmas spirit to your folks, wherever they may be. So here are my picks, in no particular order:

All I want for Christmas is a little of your Caribbean sunshine. If I am very, very good maybe Santa will bestow that gift of warmth on my chilly bones. It snowed on Thanksgiving...enough to cover the leaves that we didn't get picked up in time for the fluffy white stuff.
Hmmm, if the Caribbean dream doesn't come through, maybe that little red purse will suffice.

Fa la la la la la la la la...
Keep singing! Love that!
