Yup - according to designer, stylist, and boutique owner, Peter Elias, that's a Chanel dress she's wearing there.

Aging ever so gracefully, the Miss Universe 1998 winner and Trinidadian socialite Wendy Fitzwilliam rocked the sleek number in the promo shoot for her Letters to Ailan memoir; Elias apparently copped the piece on loan for the shoot, and the images were shot by Calvin French.

And why, pray tell, was this image overlooked as a cover shot for the book?

Anyways, keep your eye open for another cover shot of Wendy, this time on the cover of Scorch Magazine. Word on the street is that she'll be in the nude. Nekkid. And all posed up in a bed of Sorrel - I'm guessing it's their Christmas issue...

Wendy Fitzwilliams Fans it away...

Our past Miss Universe winner, Wendy Fitzwilliams, is not one to turn up her nose at using her celebrity to promote products; does anyone recall those Clearessence ads?

But now she's taking that enterprising spirit to a project of her own making: a line of fancy Fans!

It's one of those things I heard across the grapevine, and with grapevines being what they are, the news that travels along them tend get distorted in transmission, no?

And as such, I have absolutely no idea what one of those Fans would look like or cost. Maybe Wendy took inspiration from the Au Courant July issue of the mini-mag!

Wendy Fitzwilliams? Pushing Skin Care in Zurich?!

Today appears to be the day of Trini Beauty-Pageant related posts...

So I just received word from an absolutely reliable source - by the way - of our very own Ms. Universe '98 Wendy Fitzwilliams, frolicking with her son and slathering skin care products on their skin in a TV ad for Clear Essence Skincare for People of Colour, that ran today on CNN I'ntl - in Zurich, Switzerland!

Call me uninformed, but I've never heard of the brand, and a quick check on their website www.clearessence.com revealed the above photo and products that I've never laid eyes on before. Maybe Wendy has a jump-start of the rest of us, and knows something about the wonders of this product that the rest of us doesn't. Or maybe it was just a good payday - which you can never find fault with!
