What's New: Simon Duncan Collection S/S2010

You know I like to keep you in the loop, but I confess, I have never heard of the Simon Duncan collection prior to receiving this image in my inbox!

But from their PR info, it seems like the line's founder is Trinidadian by birth! In fact, just go ahead, read for yourself, and find out some more about Simon Duncan:

October 7th, New York, NY: Brooklyn’s own Mel Simon will be presenting his latest and most vibrant collection entitled “Born in Brooklyn,” for his 'Simon Duncan' fashion label’s Spring/Summer 2010 collection.

The showing will take place on Saturday October 31st 2009 at Kai Studios, 1011 Dean Street Brooklyn, NY 11238. This show promises to be a festive and memorable event!

Fashion designer, entrepreneur and former Wall Street veteran, Mel Simon was born on the beautiful island of Trinidad and Tobago.

With a passion for fashion, Mel went onto attending the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. Mel pursued his fashion career as a pattern maker for Christian Francis Roth, and has spent several years at Carmen Marc Valvo.

Some of his designs have been featured on the red carpet, being worn by celebrities such as Hollywood Actress Lucy Liu, 'Sex In the City’s' Kim Cattrall, Singer/Actress Vanessa Williams, Chandra Wilson of ''Grey’s Anatomy, Joan Rivers and Queen Latifah, just to name a few.

The Simon Duncan Collection, has participated in numerous fashion events including the New York Fashion Week in Bryant Park. However, “Born in Brooklyn” will bring fashion back to its birthplace, across the bridge!

Sooo, I'm due to check this out, and see if the pieces are all they've been pumped up to be. I'll walk with my cammie, snap some shots, talk to the designers, and report back in due course. I hope I'm pleasantly surprised!
