Caribbean Fashion Awards 09: The Post-Mortem

The Caribbean Fashion Awards came - and passed by - rather quietly, wouldn't you say? I had actually forgotten that it was scheduled during this month!

Anyhow, upon browsing a few of my listed Caribbean/Interesting blog links, I came upon a few pics from the event on the CF Style journal; check it out for a glimpse of the CFA action.

In particular, it's great to see that my friends Greg & Coleen Mills of Millhouse (the Men's fashion line) won in the menswear category. I know these two pretty well, and for their determination as a working/romantic couple, and as savvy designers, they more than deserve the commendation!

It's about that time again, folks. The Caribbean Fashion Awards are rolling around, and on April 11th 2009, the regional cognoscenti are converging in Barbados to reward the luminaries of the growing fashion industry.

So the initiative is not as hallowed as the French Couturier & Atelier tradition, or as revered as the design artisans of Italy, India or New York, but our Caribbean fashion folk are no less talented in their efforts.

And if they're coming together in an attempt to nurture the movement, we should throw in our support wherever, and however we can.

So cast your vote! Who do you think is the hottest island model? And which designer rocked your world in 2008? Throw in your two-cents ans let's see how things turn out.
