I must send thanks to Ms. Bartlett and the P.R. folks at Bamfords Way of Life, for promptly sending me some behind-the-scenes information on their new Caribbean outpost, Barefoot on the Beach!

According to the office, "A long standing love-affair with the island has led Lady Carole Bamford to develop a concept to introduce a taste of the Bamford aesthetic to St. James, Barbados." The fact that it's also located in the craftsy locale of Holetown helps, too.

Transforming a traditional Chattel house into a beach-chic haven, the new offshoot carries the 'Bamford Look,' aka a light and airy interior, the signature palette of warm grey & white, along with the wafting scent of invigorating essential oils.

It's just the kind of place that an uber-stylish beach bum would love... Carrying a collection of tactile pleasures, Barefoot on the Beach offers a variety of unique items (ceramic rosaries, quirky beach baskets) and the obligatory resort/beach wear.

If you're en-route to Barbados, make sure and pop in for a hand-worked silk kaftan or two.

Lady Bamford goes Barefoot in Barbados

The Bamford group of fashion companies are a storied and legendary set of U.K.-based lifestyle lines that revolve around the idea of a comfy, casual, but well-crafted existence. Now, they're taking that aesthetic to the sandy shores of Barbados.

Lady Carole Bamford has spearheaded the opening of the Barefoot on the Beach boutique, set to carry selections from their personal skincare line, home linens, and apparel collections. Think eco-friendly, naturalistic, easy, and island-ready pieces.

Talk about the British high-society folks heading to their favourite island haunt! Way back in the day, U.K. physicians used to 'prescribe' a vacay in Barbados as a cure for a variety of ailments, not to mention as a getaway from the droll British weather...
