When it comes to those Black vs White issues - you know the ones I'm talking about - I have my cultural potpourri of a Caribbean upbringing to thank for giving me an alternative, less-affected view of things.
Which, in turn, allows me to freely love those traditional European, alabaster-toned Aristo-Cameo brooches, pins and adornments; they just hearken back to an era when folks took a great care in their personal carriage and the details of their daily dress.
Nonetheless, I could have barely concealed my glee at discovering the Black Cameo Collection: finally I could rock a Cameo that doesn't look like it's a hand-me-down from Massa's wife! And the fact that its creator, Coreen Simpson, fashioned the images with elegantly plaited cornrows and curly poufs?
Simply heartwarming, I tell you! Check the set out here.
