This, my dear friends, is what you call a 'multipurpose handbag.' And yes, all the above images feature the same, single bag - absolutely ingenious!Designed by the Jamaican, Miami-based Architect Alison Antrobus, the bag was created as a solution to that pesky, 'black hole' handbag problem.
You know, when you put things in there, and some unwieldy force at the bottom of your bag sucks your lipstick and car keys into its dark depths, leaving you hunched over and pawing around to no avail...
Antrobus took her Architect's problem-solving design approach to the task, and came up with The Antrobus: a leather, satchel-sized bag that is at once, a pull-out caddy, a separate clutch, and a top handle purse.
It's definitely not the prettiest bag on the shelf; the black & brown version above is fetching, but the shiny hardware and bulky-luggage finish cheapens the whole look. But then again, The Antrobus was created for function, rather than for aesthetics.
My only concern, though, is that the black-hole problem can easily morph into a 'compartment-crazy' issue with The Antrobus, what with all the drawers, zippers, snaps and doodads to fuss over. Digging around in your bag is one thing; having your bag's bits fall to pieces while you dig around is quite another story!
At $800.00 on average, this is THE BAG for those uber-neurotic folks who need to have every little area of their life micro-managed. Check Antrobus Luxury for details.
