Isn't that part of everyone's ultimate Caribbean fantasy? To be whisked away to some exotic private spot on the beach, to be waited on hand & foot, with a fine liquor to whet your palate and a handsome somebody to fan you with palm fronds... Mmm Hmmm, I get it. But the W.I are so much more than that! There are the frenzied Carnivals (Trinidad Carnival is a few weeks away, in fact!) the rum, the pan, the music, the food, and of course the beaches and all that fan waving, cliched stuff. Cliches aside, there's a certain way you should look when in the Caribbean - Fuss free. The basic black getups and the tee shirt and jeans combos are ok, but come on now... This is the Caribbean! Be bold and take inspiration from Diane von Furstenburg's 08 spring collection and indulge in the island fantasy. Even if in truth and in fact, the closest you get to the Caribbean is the Bembe restaurant in Brooklyn or Negril in Soho, you still have to look the part. Check out the options below. My favourite?
