As a modern dancer, I would usually go barefeet during classes. But if there was a performance coming up and long hours were involved, my dance compadres and I would always find slick ways to slip on some comfy footwear, mid-rehearsal; toe thongs, ballet flats, or most likely, jazz shoes.
Those leathery, laced-up babies were like a buttery massage for sore arches and busted toes - and they looked pretty chic, too. But they could never, ever compare to the Downtown-cool, Osborn Design Jazzies above. Talk about statement-making shoes!
In my imagined, 'Auntie Mame meets Audrey Hepburn meets Lauryn Hill' life, these are the shoes I'd wear day in, day out... And they're hand made in Guatemala, too!
