So I thought, 'Tuesday is better for me, so I'll just pop through sometime between 10am and 9pm to get a close up of those lovely scarves.' Well I obviously had the wrong idea, because the line was a no show today when I trotted into the over-bustling Bendel locale.
A bemused sales clerk informed me that Miss Bruno's collection was only displayed on Monday - he whipped out a roster of December's Trunk Shows to verify - and added that he couldn't actually recall seeing their pieces during yesterday's showings.
Well, well, well... What a waste of a trek. And in the beastly cold to boot! I am definitely miffed about this. For one, Bendel's online roster of in-store happenings states that Miss Bruno was to show on both the 23rd & the 22nd, as does the Miss Bruno release and blog posts.
But somewhere along the line, the 2nd day was bumped off, I guess. A word of caution to emerging designers. Make sure you and your P.R. teams are on top of mix-ups like these; oversights that aren't dealt with casts such a bad glow on your organizational and overall efforts.
A cover-up email blast, or a news posting or blog entry on your store's site can generally smooth over issues that are bound to crop up at the last minute. Like when someone comes out to purchase items from the line and it's suddenly not on show anymore...

So sorry you were inconvenienced. There was a press release sent out on Monday, but I missed it. They have rescheduled for Jan.
Hey... It happens to the biggest and smallest labels. I was just amped up to buy the scarfs!!! Merry Christmas!
