My good friends at Caribbean Posh Mag just sent me this Quick Update regarding their recent cover star Shaggy. Seems like the Jamaican rude bwoy is once again doing big things in the music biz, this time with Akon. The spanking new Hype Williams directed video for their recent collaboration "What's Love" exclusively premiered on MySpace.com today at 3pm EST. In the song, the 20 times platinum reggae icon contemplates leaving his girl for all the wrong reasons while Akon adds his silky smooth vocals to the chorus on the track off of Shaggy's latest album "Intoxication" (VP/Big Yard). The legendary Hype Williams, also known for his video work with Kanye West, Beyonce, Jay-Z and Missy Elliot, perfectly complements "What's Love" with his colorful and bold direction. The video premiere was also coupled with a special behind-the-scenes making of this high concept, high fashion video. Shaggy recently performed this burgeoning hit on NBC's The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and the reggae/dancehall single is currently receiving the most U.S. radio airplay for its genre. "What's Love" is available right now for viewing on MySpace, so go check it out and tell me what you think!
